A front-heavy spring plagued by drought led to a forgettable year for me, although I'd stop just short of calling it awful. The handful of noteworthy Plains setups were mostly early spring at the far eastern fringes of the alley, putting them in questionable terrain and out of my reach on weekdays. Catching the end of the instant classic in Andover, KS, on April 29, plus a couple other tornado and structure days, helped to cushion the blow of another stinker of a peak season.
