This season failed miserably to match the synoptic activity of the previous two, landing solidly below average. To compound the pain, I botched the handful of good Plains days on offer, and didn't see a single decent daytime tornado. I ended 2009 rather despondent and questioning whether I should wean myself off this unforgiving pursuit.
