For the fourth straight year, severe drought plagued the central U.S. and practically shut down the High Plains, while also helping to limit the quality of events closer to I-35 most of the spring. Just when chasers were ready to give up, an exceptional three-day stretch arrived across the central Plains in mid-June, and I managed to score big on its most infamous day.
