One of the more prolific Plains tornado years since 2010, 2024 offered a spate of tornadic supercells, plenty of them significant. The knock on 2024 was that, despite countless scary troughs kicking out over the heart of the Plains, nearly all of them led to crushing daytime busts—then frequently added insult to injury with deadly nocturnal storms. My personal season was good, but not quite great—underforecast setups in faraway Iowa and Nebraska reigned supreme through most of the spring, plus my storm-scale execution left much to be desired when I did hit a quality setup.
