The year that cemented the mid-2020s as a generational revival of Plains chasing quality. Despite starting out drought-stricken, deluges and occasional quality tornado setups from late April into May set the stage for a June that could do no wrong. Although the Caprock put on a strong performance, it was the northern Plains that roared back to life and just about made up for a decade of dormancy. As usual, I misplayed multiple memorable storms—but the crown jewels of the season on June 7 and June 28 were impossible to botch, and left 2025 as a candidate for my best season to-date.
